Blue Buffalo Pet Food

The makers of Blue Buffalo Pet Food were the defendants in a class action lawsuit that claimed the company used poultry by-products in their food after stating they did not do so. The company has denied any wrongdoing but decided to settle the lawsuit to put an end to the litigation.

If you purchased Blue Buffalo pet food from May 7, 2008 to December 18, 2015 you are eligible to submit a claim to the company. The company has agreed to pay $32 million dollars to settle the lawsuit. Consumers can visit the website www.petfoodsettlement.com and submit a claim. If you have proof of purchase then you can receive $5.00 for every $50.00 in purchases, up to a maximum of $200.00. If you do not have proof of purchase your maximum amount is capped at $10.00. Claim forms must be completed by April 14, 2016.

The company acknowledges that a supplier had provided them with a mislabeled ingredient, where the chicken meal they received was in fact made of poultry by-product. Blue Buffalo indicated they are pursuing legal actions against this former supplier.
